Most traders are half-blinded:

Footprint and Delta 1 is not enough?

Aggressive participants initiate a price movement with market orders.

Aggressive orders are visible on aggressive volume indicators like Footprint, Volume Profile, and Delta 1.

On the other hand, passive orders, which wait at certain price levels in advance, are visible on passive volume indicators such as Heat Map, DOM, Pulling/Staking, and Delta 2.

Passive participants

  • Provide liquidity for aggressive participants to interact.
  • Position their limit orders ahead of time.
  • Demonstrate intent across price levels.
  • They may defend some price levels as strong resistance and support
  • Used by large participants to accumulate large orders against aggressive market orders.

Conclusion:  trading strategies based only on aggressive volume indicators are insufficient because they don't have crucial information from passive volume indicators.
Aggressive orders level 1 interact with passive orders level 2:

Level 1 Level 2 IndicatorsPrice Mechanics:

The key concept:

Price movement occurs due to the interaction between aggressive and passive orders.

  • Aggressive market orders buy and sell from passive orders.
  • Passive orders provide liquidity to aggressive orders

Easy to remember:

  • Aggressive buy market orders do not interact with aggressive sell market orders
  • Passive sell orders never interact with passive buy orders

The same level orders never interact with each other:

aggresive to aggressive passive to passive

Delta Diversion
Delta becomes important at points where there is a divergence, meaning price moving in one direction but delta getting skewed in the opposite direction or in other words – More aggressive buying as the price goes down and more aggressive selling as the price moves up Such divergences point to a possible change in trend or a reversal.
Absorption by limit orders is quate often precursor of reversals. Absorption is a scenario which shows unproportionally high trading volumes near the bar's high or low in absence or insignificant movement of the price behind that level.

Hidden Limit Orders and Liquidity

Many limit order markets allow limit order traders to submit "hidden" orders also called "iceberg" or "undisclosed" orders. Liquidity suppliers thus have the possibility to post a quote and either display none or only a fraction of their order's quantity to the market. Such orders represent a large proportion of the market liquidity.
Heat Map is used to uncover big participants activity and intention. Liquidity migration is the process of adding and removing limit orders in DOM. We can spot migration per each DOM level.
With the Big Trades Indicator, you can unlock a new level of trading intelligence. No more guesswork or blind trades - now you'll have the data you need to make informed decisions and take advantage of market opportunities as they arise. This Big Trades Indicator helps you to gain an edge in the market. By seeing Big order areas, we can gain insight into their intentions and trade in the same direction as they do.
